[Review] Esteé Lauder Advance Night Repair Synchronize II Serum
Back from my holiday hiatus, guess where I am! Hint: Snow, clothes layering dilemmas and insulated walls. If you guessed UK, give yourself a pat on the back haha.
Anyways, today I'm reviewing one of my staple skincare products. I believe most of you readers out there have heard or had come across this before and it's the Advance Night Repair by Esteé Lauder! I mean, who haven't! This product has been circulating the blogosphere for sometimes with massive raves and I can attone that the rave is real. ( After so many bottle of this being used and finished up to the last drop ahuehuehuehuehue ).
Additionally, I usually use this as an everyday morning-night serum as I find it not too heavy and hydrating for the skin (tips: I use serums as primers as well cause I find most of em work really well together with make-up). The texture like I said before, is just right and the consistantcy is liquidy-ish to slightly borderline gel-ish.
Do take note that it leaves a somewhat tacky (in other words, sticky) feeling after applying (which is like marmite [not the texture, the analogy haha], you either love it or hate it - I love it when I have to apply something like a moisturizer over it).
I personally think this is magic. I put this on at night and wake up with hydrated and well-rested skin every morning (which is a good thing since I sleep late and have to wake up early for classes -uhhhh).
Controversy: There is this argument that some suggest that you have to use a whole pump ( yes, a whole pump ) on your face to 'maximise' the serum's potential. On the other hand, some argue that 'save as much as possible' route is the way to go, which is saying that just use the bare minimum to spread on your face.
For me: I'm borderline between the both. I use not 'just enough' but more than 'just enough' if you get what I mean. Cause it's not exactly 'cheap' either eh? If you count in drops, I normally use about 5 to 6 drops depending on how heavy handed I am - which is usually the size of 1.5 peas. That way, I don't waste the excess since I believe that there's a limit to what our skin can absorb -- as I'd apply a hydrating toner earlier (sometimes with essence or exfoliating toner) and layer on a very hydrating moisturizer later on to 'seal' all of
em' antioxidants in.
ANR is available anywhere with Estee lauder counters or on their website. If you are from the UK and you LOVE this like I do, get the limited edition 75ml bottle as its more bang for your buck! EL releases these 75ml ones once in a while so keep your eyes peeled. If possible, get the 100ml one in duty free if you're travelling. saves more. For those super savvy peeps (like me), wait for gift with purchase to get this! Haha. The feeling of satisfaction when you get these GWPs, I can't even..
